About Holly Thaggard
Holly Thaggard is the Founder of Supergoop!, the first and only lifestyle brand 100% dedicated to UV protection. Her journey into entrepreneurship began in 2005 after a close friend was diagnosed with skin cancer. Realizing that most people weren’t taking sunscreen seriously, Holly stepped away from her career as a professional harpist and dove headfirst into the unfamiliar world of SPF with a mission to change that.
Her early vision focused on getting sunscreen into schools to help protect kids, but after a challenging start she made a critical pivot into retail. Taking a risk, Holly hired a publicist she could barely afford—a move that eventually helped get Supergoop! onto the shelves at Sephora and set the brand on a path toward becoming a multi-million-dollar business.
Today, Supergoop! is widely recognized for its breakthrough SPF innovations and ingredient-conscious products designed to make sun protection part of everyday life. The brand has earned numerous industry accolades, including multiple Allure Best of Beauty Awards, CEW Beauty Awards, recognition on TIME’s Best Inventions list, and inclusion on TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies list.
Holly has also been recognized on Entrepreneur’s 100 Powerful Women List and Inc.’s 100 Female Founders Building America’s Most Inspiring Businesses, and was recently named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year alongside Supergoop! CEO Amanda Baldwin. She lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband and two children.
